Easter

During the weeks before Easter, husband decided to do a "little" remodel on the kitchen cooktop and island... This was supposed to be a weekend project, but ended up taking a couple of weekends. Anyway, the G6 came over the day before Easter for the Daddies to try to finish the job, and the kids and Mommies to hang out.Here are the Daddies working hard installing the cooktop and fan.

Thank you so much G6!!! Because we had no cooktop, the G6 brought some hard boiled eggs for the kids to decorate.
They turned out really cute!
But my girls decided not to use any tools and just use their hands to hold the eggs in the dye.

Their hands were stained for days!
The Easter Bunny came and hid eggs all over the house. (Each of the girls has their own color of eggs to find).
Then we headed over to the L4's house for a yummy Easter brunch. We always have the kids decorate a cake or cookies after. This year they did cookies.

Happy Birthday, big girl!! (sniff, sniff)

It's hard to believe that my youngest child is 4 yrs old! But I can not escape reality and I have to accept it (sigh).
It was no surprise that she requested one of Auntie Robin's famous barbie cakes! My oldest and star cake decorator, decorated it again with baby sisters color choices (purple, blue, & green). I know what your thinking....."what...no pink?".

I had to throw in a picture of the cake swiper. She started with one piece, then swiped her Moms, then Dad's, then started eating off of her neighbors plate!

Miss Pay got buckets of Lego's for her bday. Big sis and friends couldn't wait to start building...

Neither could Daddy! He of course had to get involved. He could hardly wait to build "the biggest house ever" according to the kids! (That's his hand in the pic)

Since then the Lego's have stayed out on the coffee table and been played with everyday.

Primary Concert

The theme.Her class represented Africa & Hawaii (her music teacher sewed the costume).

They did a traditional African dance. (Yes she really is that much smaller than most of her classmates!) With cousin Luc and another friend from class.

This was one of the best "concerts" I've seen done by the kiddos.

Girl Scouts

Here is Em with of the Troop Leaders and some of her fellow Daisies!

A few years ago, my oldest decided she wanted to do Girl Scouts. Unfortunately there not enough people willing to be troop leaders in the area, so she ended up joining a group with almost 20 girls. The Troop Leaders tried their best, but no bonds were made (on our end, at least) and she soon decided that Girls Scouts was not a good fit for her ( I agreed, happily) and that ended our families ties with the Girls Scouts of America. Or so I thought...

Emma brought home a flyer from Kindergarten that announced some of the Mom's were going to take the initiative and start a troop of Kindergarten Daisies. I saw the flyer and thought "been there, done that" and happily tossed it in the recycling bin.

The next week, Em's carpool buddy began talking about GS and how utterly excited she was to start! She could not wait, and seemed to already know all the details. They would be singing, painting, camping, and selling cookies together..."Didn't Em want to do it too?", she asked.

Well, how could Em turn that down? Of course she wanted to do it! Soooooo, I signed her up.

She has now attended a handful of meetings and anticipates the day until the next one. They sing, paint, talk about the environment, and best of all she is bonding with a sweet group of girls. Some of whom are her best friends.

This round of Girl Scouts is turning out to be a great decision and wonderful experience for us all, especially Em!

Twilight DVD!!!

Honestly, I am such the "kid in the candy shop" when it has anything to do with Twilight!

These books have sparked something in me that I didn't even know was there.

Last year my friend and I took a trip and when we were at the airport, she bought the book. She was in the middle of reading something else, so she insisted that I could read it first. =)

I started reading it, and could not put it down! I went on to finish each book in the series in about 2 days per book. I am sorry to say that almost everything was neglected during this time period. I basically fed the kids, took care of all the basic needs, and then jumped upstairs to my bedroom and sunk back into my book. I could not get away from them! My poor kids and not to mention my poor husband!

I have since read the entire series 2 times and re-read twilight 3 times. I love them all!

I am so excited for the release of the DVD tonight at Midnight!

I went to Borders this morning to stand in line (with two kids in tow), to pick up a raffle ticket and reserve my copy. I'm all pumped to go to the DVD release party tonight at 10pm with my fav fellow Twilighters. We are gonna make an evening of it and meet around 7:30 and then head to Borders for the release party!

Can't wait!!

8th Birthday Celebration

She started the day with presents from Mom, Dad and sisters. Her fav was the Scooby-Doo movies (the ones that are with real people, not cartoons). Can you believe she didn't have them yet?
She wanted to have a Birthday Brunch. So Daddy made waffles, grandma made bacon and sausage, Uncle Van made potatoes, and Auntie Robin made eggs. (Thanks for helping everyone! It was super yummy!)She had a brownie and......

The G6 had Girl Scouts cookie sales in the morning so they came as soon as they were done! Dev stayed upstairs playing in Pay's room the entire time!
The Birthday girl needed some down time after her party, so she played her new Club Penguin game for the DS and just chilled on the couch.
