Super Soccer Sunday Comes to an End...for Now.

Fall soccer has come to an end. Haley's team played their last regular season game on Sunday and one 6-2! The Blue Angel's tied for 1st place this season! Congrat's blue! They have a fun tournament coming up this weekend called the "Turkey Shoot". Three games for sure and possibly a fourth if we come out ahead in the other three!


It was so cold and windy on Sunday! We had to drive almost an hour away to the field for the game, so we were sure to bring all of our cold weather gear. The girls were still freezing, so we bought them hot cocoa to keep their hands and bellies warm.


Daddy was not dressed warm enough, so he decided to get cozy with the girls!


For some reason, I didn't get a good pic of Haley on the field, but I did get this gem of a pic! Love all the mud that the kids drag in off the field. YUK! Guess who gets to clean it all up later?


Sunday night was Daddies last outdoor game for this season. The girls were playing games while waiting for the G6 to come! They had to come late because of their kids soccer parties and games!


Daddy let Pay put on some shoes that used to be her fav and are way to small now. She kept complaining of her feet hurting and so she kept taking them off. Dev entertained her with an animated Star Wars story while she did this. Too funny!


The boys had a tough loss against a very obnoxious and physical team. They were still kind enough to take a pic for us wives and our blogs! Thanks guys! We can't wait for next season!


After the pic, the Daddies had to do some "team talk" as Emma calls it.


The kids felt that this presented the perfect opportunity for them to take advantage of the very large and very empty turf field. Silly girls were showing off their cartwheels.

Haley and Dev are total buddies these days. She has always wanted a brother, and she just adores them. She was playing soccer on the field with him, but I made them stop to pose for a pic.

Em and Nana spend all of their time giggling! They made up a new "handshake" and wanted to show me. Of course it included booty bumping! hahaha

Sisters Helping Sisters

I just love that my older daughters are always willing to help the younger ones out.


Pay was working hard in her workbook, and needed a little help. She asked me to come over, and big sis Kaylin says, "I can help you!". At first Kaylin wanted Pay to just do what she told her to do. When Pay couldn't(or wouldn't), Kaylin began to get frustrated. I had to gently remind her that Pay is only 4 yrs old and she might need to slow down a little for her. Once she did just that Pay loosened up and did just what Kaylin suggested.

It is a beautiful thing and just warms my heart to see my girls working together. How lucky little Pay is to have three big sisters to help her out. :)

(Although, most of the time she wants to be big like them, and do everything herself.)

Leopards season ends.

Emma had so much fun this season in soccer. It was the first season that had all girls on the team! It's always been co-ed up until now!


We celebrated at a pizza banquet room, with pizza and trophies. Coach Lance had all the girls come up to the front of the room. They didn't really know why.


He was super sweet and talked about the amazing season that we had. Undefeated!!! We have some ballers on this team for sure!


Emma loved getting her trophy! Coach Lance says she's a speed demon (when she wants to be)!
Thanks so much to Coach Lance and his wife Julie! We couldn't ask for a more patient, kind, and loving coach!

Halloween

I bought this craft foam set for the girls to make Halloween finger puppets...


But, they had to be hot glued together before they could decorate them! It only said on the inside of the package! Ugh! I had to spend an hour hot gluing and then wait for them to dry! So much for a quick and easy holiday craft. What a pain in the butt!




I made some cupcakes, but because Haley was sick with the stomach flu, I couldn't share them with the soccer team. Wouldn't want to get anyone sick.



I also tried to make these from ourbestbites.com (one of my fav food blogs).




Only, they did not turn out as cute. :( I used white chocolate chips instead of almond bark. Oh well, they tasted yummy though!




This year, Kaylin wanted to be Dorithy from the Wizard of Oz. She had been talking about since her birthday in March! She asked her grandma (my Mom) if she could make the costume for her. Lucky for her, grandma can sew!

Here it is all done! We think Grandma did a fantastic job! (Thanks Mom!)

Dao took the girls out while I stayed home to hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters. This was a first for us. We usually turn out the lights and head out together. I was more than willing to stay in the nice warm house to hand out candy to the 20 or so kiddos that stopped by. I did make them pose for a picture before they headed out the door. I was happy with this one, but....

they wanted to do one with silly/crazy faces. Husband added the blood and gore to his mask. (It glows in the dark.)


We can't forget our little Mushu pumpkin!

This was the first year that we didn't have a princess on Halloween. It actually brought me to tears when I realized this! My girls are growing to fast!

School Halloween Bear Scare

Every year our school has a Halloween carnival called the "Bear Scare" (our school mascot is a bear). Last year we were in Disneyland during this time, so we missed out. We were so happy to be able to make it this year!


Right when we walked in the door, we ran into the G6! Their Mom, Sheree, was working the tattoo booth, so we offered to take the kids around to the games. But first, a quick pic!


Ummm....yeah. Darth was not really having it. Once he heard we were gonna move on and do some games, he was ready. He did smile and pose with the kids, but my camera was being slow, so by the time it worked, he was done.


The kids tried all the games. This game was cool, cuz they got to keep the smooth rock that they used to play hop scotch with.
One of the things I love about our school is that it is K-8. This event is put on by the middle schoolers, mostly the 8th graders. They are super sweet with the little ones.
I wish I had taken more pics, but we were super busy and before I knew it, it was my turn to work the cupcake walk!
Needless to say, much fun (and candy) was had by all!

Seattle Tilth Field Trip

My daughters, Kaylin, and Emma, are in a multi-aged classroom together (along with their cousin Lucas) at school. This is the first year that they will be together, because Emma was in Kindergarten last year. It is a large class with 54 students and 2 teachers (along with a bunch of parent helpers). Because of the large class, often there are to many parent volunteers and there is a lottery held for the parents to "get" to go on the field trips with the kids. I "won" the lottery for the first field trip of the year and headed with the class to The Seattle Tilth. As it says on their website "Seattle Tilth is a nationally recognized non-profit educational organization dedicated to inspiring and educating people to garden organically and conserve national resources".

Here is my group of kiddos, Kaylin, Emma, Rami, and Lucas. After this pic, we headed out for our scavenger hunt. We had to try to find things like birds nests, garbage, berries, and bones. I am very greatful that we did not find any bones. Yuck!


Next up we learned about composting! My girls and I were very excited about this because we just got our first compost bin from Sheree. Her neighbor was giving one away, and since she already had one, she was very nice and gave it to us. In the words of Pay "Thanks Sa-wee!".


The kids got to move the leaves from bin to bin and then move the most composted stuff to a new location with a wheelbarrow. Then they carried the hose over to water.


After watering, they covered it all with burlap bags to protect it.


Here is the entire class posing for all of us parents. I hope I get to go on more field trips with them this year!

Storm Troopers Trophy party

The Storm Troopers ended their season undefeated (although, we aren't really supposed to keep score at this age)!


Pay was so excited to get her trophy!


Coach David's son Dev was MVP! He scored 9 at their last game!!!

Thanks so much to David and Dao for being such patient coaches for the kids, and Sheree for being an amazing team mom! I am so glad that we get to do one more season with you before the boys and girls have to split up!
